Canine and Feline allergy screens detect allergen-specific IgE. The animal should be exhibiting active symptoms at the time of sample collection and be off prednisone treatment for 4-6 weeks.

However, if cessation of prednisone is undesirable and the animal is exhibiting active symptoms, testing may proceed. Antihistamine treatment will not affect test results. Treatment sets based on in-vitro testing may be ordered through VITA-TECH. Each treatment set is custom prepared and undergoes mandatory sterility testing before being released to our clients.
